Image-Guided Cryoablation Compatible with US, CT and MRI
Galil Medical offers a range of cryosurgical systems compatible with ultrasound, CT and MRI image guidance. Research and development have led to unique cryoablation needles that match the specific needs of cryosurgery (freezing) with the selected imaging modality.

Many cryotherapy ablation procedures are performed under ultrasound guidance. The tips of the entire 17-gauge cryoablation needle family are highly echogenic. The echogenic tip is clearly seen on the ultrasound, aiding the physician in accurate placement.

Percutaneous MRI-guided cryoablation of tumors has been shown to be feasible and safe and has distinct advantages over other imaging modalities such as US or CT. MRI imaging depicts the precise position of the cryoablation needles and enables near real-time monitoring of the iceball propagation and ice coverage. A full range of MR-compatible needles is available for use with the MRI SeedNet™ system for MR-guided surgery.

CT-guided percutaneous cryoablation has been shown to be feasible and with a low procedural morbidity. For CT guided procedures, a 90 degree needle is available for easy insertion under tight physical constraints.

Minimally Invasive Procedures
Galil Medical is dedicated to promoting minimally invasive surgery. Patented 17-gauge (1.47 mm) cryoablation needles are less than half the diameter of the previous generation, large probes. They are easily inserted, placed and repositioned as required during a procedure.

Each needle produces different sized and shaped iceballs. The coalescence of these iceballs can easily be seen and monitored by the supported imaging modalities during the ablation treatment.

Temperature Monitoring with Ultra-thin Thermal sensors
Ultra-thin 17-gauge thermal sensors (TS) and multi-point thermal sensors (MTS) provide continuous real-time temperature monitoring when inserted into strategic locations. Dynamically updated real-time temperature readings verify lethal temperatures within target tissue while controlling impact to surrounding healthy tissue.

Patented multi-point thermal sensors (MTS) record temperatures throughout the gland, or tumor, for a high level of procedure control when performing cryosurgical ablation with the Presice™ Cryoablation System. User defined temperature targets can be set and visual warnings are displayed during the procedure to alert the physician to take appropriate action.
